In this tutorial we are going to disable blinking text, I'm sure that I am not the only one that finds this element annoying and distracting to say the least! This has got to be one of the easiest about:config tutorials that I have done so far it will take you a matter of seconds to disable blinking elements and get rid of them forever.
Open up Firefox by using one of the methods below:
Double Click the 'Firefox Icon' on the desktop
or
Hold down the 'windows key' and Press 'R' then type in Firefox and Press 'Enter'.
Now type about:config into the Address bar and Press 'Enter'.
Type browser.blink_allowed into the filter bar as seen below.
Double Click on browser.blink_allowed to change value to False.
Make sure the value is False
Close Firefox
The next time you start Firefox you may want to check that the setting is working, just come back to this page because may have noticed there is a blinking text element at the top of this page. If you have changed the setting correctly it will no longer flash!
